Fat Calbert

Sadly, American ideology and Christian theology have become entangled for some if not all right-wing ultra conservatives. However, I do not believe their intent is merely political. In some ways these groups would seem to equate the spreading of the gospel with the dispersion of American ideology. God and country are thus almost synonymous and a gain for one is a gain for the other. This is most certainly warped but I believe the overall intent remains primarily religious (in a warped sense of course) and any political gain becomes a form of conversion.

Peace to you,

Looks like a large helping of civil religion to me... And brings to mind the only bumper sticker I've ever wanted to put on a car: "When Jesus said, 'Love your enemies,' I think he probably meant don't kill them."

Hey bro, just so you know, Porter Memorial Church has no connections with either me or my family. Yikes. Sick out.

Good to hear from you. I'm glad that you cleared that up because when I read about ultra-conservative American Nationalistic tendencies, I think "Sounds like Matt". :)

That bumper sticker is funny. I think I have an idea for my next post. Thanks.

I think that your right. I guess I still just have a hard time believing that shit happens.
