At Greg's request, here is the brief rundown of what happened:
I got into a conversation with this woman at another blog. She said something about knowing things about God and I, to nobodies surprise, took the position that we don't "know" anything about God. So she sent me an email stating the things that we know about God. Most of them were conservative doctrines and young earth creationist stuff. She also wanted to know why I have become who I have become when I used to be so "Christian". We emailed back and forth a couple of times and the conversation was going well, I thought. In one of her emails she said, "I respect you more than some fellow Christians". I thought she was just kidding so I wrote back, "Are you saying you don't consider me a Christian". Then the reply came, "You asked if I consider you a Christian. Well, no, I don't". Then she went on to write off my stance with the reasoning that was about equal to "It's not what I believe". Uh, okay. It was a total conversation killer. To her credit she was very nice about most of it. That is, until she read my "Pop-Christianity Sucks" post, then she got a bit belligerent. Oh, well, I should have know it was the logical consequences of my actions. If A then B. Where A = Attack a fundies unsubstantiated position, and B = Get labeled as a heretic. Good ol' Modus Ponens, works every time.
